Management Updates-Please read

The Beckonridge Homeowners’ Association (BHOA) has recently contracted with Associa, a property management company, to help bring some continuity to the functioning of the board and to free up our present and future volunteers to better focus on maintaining and improving Beckonridge.

Associa will be helping with the financial side of running the HOA. As residents this means that our association dues will now be paid through Associa. It also creates continuity from the annual transition of board members and community volunteers who oversee the BHOA’s finances and provides a contact point to answer questions and resolve issues.

Hiring Associa will also impact us as residents by assisting the Architectural Control Committee (ACC). Associa will be taking over the arduous task of monitoring the neighborhood to ensure that all our homes comply with the standards set in our governing documents and by making recommendations to those who volunteer on the ACC committee. Our governing documents require this to be done. In the past, this task has fallen on volunteers and is often a prohibitively time-consuming component of what can be a difficult and thankless role. For us, as residents, this means that we may see a marked Associa vehicle making the rounds in our neighborhood. It also means that any letters regarding bylaw compliance concerns and steps for resolution will now be coming from Associa.

This is a change to the way our community has functioned in the past. The board would like to ensure you that many hours of thoughtful deliberation and spirited debate went into making this decision. The hiring of Associa will not change most of the ways we interact as community members or with our community’s Association. It should serve to streamline the way our HOA functions and hopefully make our ever-present volunteer positions more approachable. It should also help those who volunteer their time to be as productive as possible.

Each household in our community will soon be receiving a letter from Associa that will give a more detailed description of their role and aid in getting us all integrated into their system. Please fill out their request for resident information. As always, Tara in the BHOA office is available to help with any questions you may have.

The HOA could use your help! All the committees would welcome more volunteers to help lighten the load of keeping Beckonridge a welcoming and enjoyable place to live.

Sincerely,

HOA Board Volunteers
